It’s been a minute since our last action. Sweden is apparently far away. Who knew? The Pens took 3 out of the 4 points in the two games against the Preds in the International Series thingy last week. Playing only twice in the past eleven days could have been a good thing for the wounded, but we’ll see how this ‘long-ish layoff’ works out tonight and tomorrow night, for the rest of the team. At least these aren’t afternoon games.
We’re currently tied with the Isles with 24 points and we’re still holding onto 3rd place in the division with a game in hand on just about everyone else. The Wild are coming in hot at 3-0 in their last three games beating the Ducks, Knights and Canes… ‘mild’-ly impressive. The Kracken are 2-1 in their last three games beating the Jets, Sharks and losing to the Wings. They are on the ice against the Blackhawks as I write this tonight so I’m thinking 3-1 in their last 4 before we get them on Saturday. Fek em both. WE’RE TAKING TWO!!

FRIDAY:

The Mild still have Kaprizov (Crosby is better) and they got Zuccarello back from injury but the rest of their team is kinda mid. Rookie Jesper Wallstedt has been a major factor in their recent win streak, posting multiple shutouts and making some excellent saves. These guys are still battling some of the same issues that plagued their slow start, including special teams and turnovers.

SATURDAY:

The Kraken are off to their best start in franchise history. While they lack a dominant offense, they have a strong defensive identity under new coach Lane Lambert, focusing on structure and limiting chances, which has led to their improved performance. The team has been playing well despite injuries to key players like Jared McCann, Kaapo Kakko and Joey Daccord.
