GAMEDAY TWO’FER 49 & 50: Da Frozen Nort

BATTLE of SEATTLE. WE got a big regulation W on Monday and put up another 2 points and half a dozen golas doing it! Nice start to the 4 game raod trip bois!

Skinner had a really good outing, again. He looks to be fitting in nicely in PGH. I can honestly say that I don’t feel anxious when I hear he’s starting, like I used to with Jarry. I’m “kind of” starting to feel that way with Silovs starting, but only as long as they don’t go to a shootout. That shootout shit needs to go the fek away. Play grown-ass man hockey untill sumbuddy skores, for at leat 10 maybe 15 minutes. The shootout is ok for pee-wee leagues but the NHL shouldn’t use it. AND NOT JUST CAUSE WE SUCK AT IT… well it kinda is ; )

Sid played his 1,400th NHL game on Monday, becoming the 12th player in NHL history to reach the mark with a single franchise. He also got his 512th career multipoint game, surpassing Gordie Howe (511 games) for fifth in NHL history. Mark Messier (513) and Marcel Dionne (513) are tied for third. He’s also only 8 apples away from notching 1100 total assists. (That comes out to aboot 366 golas for yinz mathaletes.)

In other news, Connor Dewar scored twice and…. KULAK SKOARED A GOLA! Is this the real world or…

… Is this just METRO?

WEDNESDAY:

These guys really suck this season. They are struggling, sitting near the bottom of the NHL standings (around 28th) as they rebuild through a disappointing record. However, they are 13-7-3 at HOME, while offensively posting an overall -18 gola DIFF. They do lead the league in shorthanded goals… so WE all know what that means. If the Pens play half as well as they did in Seattle they will win this one. WE need to keep beating the teams ‘WE’s aposta beat’… Seattle was the right start, let’s keep it going.

THURSDAY:

The bad news… WE’re playing McJeebus. The good news … Dry-side-hole is out. So at least WE can focus defensively on only one of their “more than dynamic” duo. McDavid is tied for 1st place in league skoaring and Draisaitl was 5th as of this writing. After those two, their team looks good on paper, but definately NOT unbeatable. Jarry was confirmed for Tuesday against the visiting Devils so WE will prawlly see Pickard in net tonight. I was hoping to see Jarry play, we’ll see. WE can and should beat this team. Our overall W/L records are about the same with Edmonton 13-11-4 at home (not impressive) and our road record at 12-7-4 (as of this writing) so, I like our chances. Gotta play UP for this one bois… It’s a McJEEBUS night in Pittsburgh!
