GAMEDAY 12: A Wild Wind Blows

WE got another loser point on Tuesday in Philthy and in doing so it seems the actual rivalry was reborn. The Philth played “Tochett Style” and took advantage of a younger, somewhat depleated lineup controlling most aspects of the game throuought. The Pens looked tired and somewhat confused for most of this one but Silovs was in controll and saved our bacon multiple times. I really like that guy.

Sid, once again, came to the rescue and scored the late tying gola sending the game into OT, during which all HECK broke loose. Even the Refs lost what little minds they possessed. Someone told Trevor Zegras (of all the skinny lil pricks) he was now a ‘badass’ and he seemingly has decided to become the new Philthy Girwho. After he delivered a cheap-shot on Acciari, a brawl of sorts ensued and OH YEAH the hatred is flowing once again. WE lost in the eventual shootout, sans-Sid, but you can bet that the next time WE play these jagawfs we’ll be rested and ready for round 2. Until next time, ya Philty Phekers…

Over the first ten games the Wild’s performance has been inconsistent, with a mixed start to the season marked by defensive strengths in goaltending but a lack of goal support and offensive scoring. Their recent performances have been underwhelming, with concerns about injuries, the ability of young players to step up, and a limited number of productive lines. They’re… mild.

Kirill Kaprizov signed a major contract extension, securing their star player for the long term and there is potential for growth from young cornerstones like Matt Boldy and Marco Rossi. Key players like Nico Sturm, Jonas Brodin, and Mats Zuccarello however, have been sidelined with injuries, disrupting the lineup and the start to their season.

Another fekin’ baldy??

All that being said, tonight presents a great opportunity for the Pens to bounce back and get back in the W collumn.

The NEW YOUNG GUNS experiment continues with Pickering, Koivunen, Kindel and Hallander all having their first real shot at the NHL level, which seems to be working out pretty well thus far. LeTang, Karlsson and a few others keep draging us backwards by doing the ‘Dumba’ things they always have, but all-in-all the Pens really seem to be on the upswing at 7-2-2, virtually tied for 1st place in the Division, Conference and League while Sid and Geno are in the Top 10 in overall points. Gotta work on that D Nosferatu!

Also… McKENNA WATCH continues with #4 PSU @ #17 OSU tonight (on the BTN) and Friday night (on the BTN+), both games drop at 6:30pm. These are the first two B10 games for PSU. Overall I like their chances, but away from Pegula, at OSU, it’s gonna be tough at best. That ‘other sports team’ from PSU is also visiting OSU for a Saturday kickoff at noon. Wouldn’t it just be something “IF”…don’t hold yer breath.
