GAMEDAY 53: SKULLY-FEK THIS TEAM ON ABC

The Pens are on a 5 game win streak and hold sole possession of 2nd place in the Metro division. They are 6-0-2 in their last eight, and currently on a 12-2-2 run since coming back from the holiday break.

After taking 20 minutes to warm up after a 3 day break, they tapped open an new gola keg and left the spigot wide open to let gush a total of 6 frosty golas against the Chicago Chickenhawks on Thursday.

It was a delicious meal for our hungry-hungry Penguins. On to the next victory!

Today WE are hosting the New York Rags led by non-other than Wrek-em Ralph Sully. He has managed to destroy a pretty good team in just a little over half a season. No one in Pittsburgh is suprised. Hopefully he won’t infect the USA Olympic team with his “stick-to-it-ness” garbage method of hockey, but I’m not holding my breath on that one either. He ruins teams, that’s what he does. And he’s very efficient at it.

A lot of NY’s starters are out for this game. Panarin is on the shelf to protect him from being injured in advance of an upcoming trade. Fox, Shesterkin and Edstrom are all on IR. Sheary, nobuddy cares…

With 2 games in hand on the Islanders and 3 games in hand on the Crapitals, and the Filth shitting the bed every night, the Pens are sitting pretty with only 4 games left on the schedule (including today’s game) before the ‘O’ break. That being said, the Isles seem to keep winning, so WE need to do the same.

The 5th ranked Penn State Nittany Lions are up against the 2nd ranked Michigan State in Hockey Valley this weekend for a pair of conference matchups. Last night at Pegula Ice Arena the Lions lost 6-3 to the Spartans. The game was closer than the final score might have you believe as MSU scored two empty net goals late in third frame.

The rubber match is this afternoon, an outdoor game taking place at Westshore Home Field-Beaver Stadium. It’s airing on the B10 Network at 1PM EST. This will be an historic matchup as it’s the first Penn State hockey game ever to be played outdoors, in Beaver Stadium. And you can watch it, without having to buy a subscription, via cable tv. Hopefully the Lions can even the series up with a win.
