Enter the Dragon, or… close enough

Kyle Dubas still mourned the loss of his favorite player, Phil Kessel; there was nothing he could do. When he tried to act outside the system, Dave Nonis berated him, warning that true power comes not from loyalty, but from being feared.

Determined to grow stronger, Dubas traveled the world — training in combat, sharpening his mind in tactical negotiations, and studying leadership. After his time in Thailand, he was recruited into the shadowy Kontinental Hockey League, led by none other than Dave Nonis himself.

But when Dubas completed his training, he rejected the League and its mandatory player agreements, contracts that secretly hired players out as assassins. Stealing the hard-drive with all the contracts, he returned to Pittsburgh, only to learn of the KHL’s true plan: they believed the NHL salary cap was unsalvageable and intended to destroy the entire system. Their ultimate goal was to hand secret ownership rights of the NHL over to Lockheed Martin.

Intent on saving both his team and the sport itself, Dubas returned to Pittsburgh. He began studying the “dark ages” of Penguins hockey, searching for clues in the past. With the help of team archivist Bob Grove, a close friend of Art Rooney, Kyle gained access to old charts, coaching journals, and game film. Publicly, he played the role of a bumbling GM, but secretly, he built a base beneath The Duquesne Incline, where he assumed a new identity: Evil Harry Potter.

From his hidden lair, Evil Harry monitored Reddit forums and the dark web for signs of the KHL’s schemes. He recruited Jason Spezza, one of the few well-liked people in the office, as his trusted ally.

At a pre-season coaches’ meeting, Sergei Fedorov appeared and revealed himself to be a KHL agent. His plan was diabolical: poison the NHL’s Gatorade supply, leaving players dazed, confused, and vulnerable to suggestion. The result? Absolute chaos on the ice — NO shots on the power play, leading to mass hysteria and riots that would tear cities apart. Pittsburgh was chosen as the first target, a punishment for Dubas’ betrayal.

Fedorov hung Kyle in the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex rafters, leaving him to die. But Spezza arrived just in time, pulling Dubas to safety. Meanwhile, Sergei loaded the toxic sports drink onto a train leaving the Heinz plant, determined to unleash his plan.

Evil Harry and Spezza gave chase. Onboard the train, Kyle confronted Fedorov in a brutal showdown. Outside, Spezza coordinated with the nearby furry convention goers, to derail the tracks with debris. After fierce fighting, Evil Harry leapt from the train, leaving Fedorov to perish in the fiery crash.

In the aftermath, Kyle earned the loyalty of his coaching staff. Impressed by his courage and sacrifice, they rallied behind him, though the world would never know the truth. He had become an unknown hero, a protector working from the shadows.

Now, only one task remained: to use everything he had learned to rebuild the Penguins… and prepare for the battles still to come.
