Before our potential downfall, let’s sit by the fire and reminisce about the last game.

If you missed it, slap yourself — because it was amazing. The Penguins dropped seven goals on the Blackhawks. Brazeau buried three, Rust added two, and it felt like the kind of beatdown we haven’t handed out in a long time.

It’s been a while since we were on that side of one.

Tonight, the Penguins face the Carolina Hurricanes. Carolina doesn’t beat teams with flash, but with pressure and a relentless pace. They forecheck aggressively, keep pucks alive at the blue line, and force opponents into bad decisions.

Still… they can’t be that smart — because they let Jake go.
Sure, we did too. But it’s different.

I’m not sure which version of the Penguins will show up tonight. It will likely be Skinner in net, so hopefully the defense shows up for him. The Hurricanes will get their shots — the Penguins have to control where those shots come from.
Let’s go for Win No. 2.
