I’m hoping for a reset, reboot, or some kind of correction to our season.
During our first season with Muse, by this point, we were a surprise to the league. More wins, more goals, and fewer goals against. We caught people off guard. Then November/December rolled around, and things slowed down as the rest of the league figured him out.
This season? We just suck. But like the final girl in a slasher movie, we will survive this intact. And from here, we can only go up.

The Guins are back home after a painful road trip that I can only describe as a horror movie. Pittsburgh went winless on the four-game trip and also lost Rust and Kindel along the way. Putting together a complete 60 minutes continues to be a problem, the power play is still on life support, and our defense is under isolation because it’s toxic and contagious.
However, when Thing 1 and Thing 2 arrived at The Paint, no Vegas odds could have predicted what happened next. Dr. Malkin, M.D. was working the night shift, hopped up on Red Bull and cocaine. Florida came to town and left in a body bag.
The team put together its most complete game of the season, and our secondary scoring finally showed signs of life. The offense was clicking, the energy was there, and suddenly, the Guins remembered how to play hockey.
We have officially finished fumigating the visitors’ locker room after the Florida Panthers’ visit, and now we welcome the… Predators.
The Predators have had a bit of a roller-coaster start themselves. They beat Dallas, Montreal, and St. Louis. They’ve dropped games to Minnesota, Vegas, Toronto, Ottawa and San Jose. So, they’re not exactly an unstoppable but they are always competent. Roman Josi remains the big name worth remembering, but that doesn’t mean we can afford to take them lightly.
The good news? We’re home, and there is plenty of season left to turn this around. Instructions: Play a full 60 minutes, Protect the net, Use the PP, and Cover you man. Repeat.
