GAMEDAY 39: We’ll Talk a Cup o’ Stanley Kindness yet… for auld Mike Lang Syne

The Penguins have won the last 2 games. You heard me, we are streaking(ish).

It’s only two games, but the goal output is promising. Sidney is riding a point streak, and Brazeau is playing like he’s possessed by 1990’s Mario Lemieux. I’m not sure who’s post-Christmas wish this is, but hopefully that someone specified that it lasts the entire season.

Tonight, the Penguins face the Detroit Red Wings. Detroit is competitive in the standings and still firmly in the playoff mix. Dylan Larkin and William Nylander are leading their charge and will be the biggest headaches for Pittsburgh’s defense. Detroit can also brag about both of their special-teams units; their power play and penalty kill are legit strengths.

I’m guessing Silovs will be in net, so it’ll probably be a fun ride. The team had yesterday off, which means I fully expect at least half the roster to be either actively drunk or playing through a serious hangover.
